Caramel Sheet Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce

  • 2cups All purpose flour

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1cup Caramel syrup (homemade)

  • 1/4tsp Salt

  • 1tsp Baking powder

  • 1/2cup Butter

  • 1/2cup Milk

  • 1tsp Vanilla extract

  • Frosting:

  • 1cup Sugar

  • 1/4cup Butter

  • 1/2cup Heavy cream

  • 1/4tsp Sea salt


  • Beat the butter and caramel sauce as a smooth and creamy mixture. Add egg one by one and beat again.
  • Meanwhile sieve the flour with baking powder,salt. Add the milk to the egg mixture and mix well
  • Add the flour to the already beaten mixture and mix well with a spatula.
  • Meanwhile prepare a rectangule cake pan with butter, preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Pour the cake batter to the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from oven and let it cool.
  • Heat the sugar in a heavy bottomed pan, cook in medium flame until the sugar turns ambre in colour. Add the butter, heavy cream,sea salt and cook until the sauce turns bit thick.
  • Spread the caramel sauce on the top of the sheet cake. Slice and enjoy the cake with your favourite drink.
