Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Beef - 1/2kg


  • Shallot- 10 (sliced)


  • Ginger n Garlic - 11/2 tablespoon (crushed)


  • Green Chilly - 3 (slit)


  • Coconut bites -1 (small cup)


  • Dry chilly - 2 or 3


  • Cumin seed - 1 pinch


  • Curry Leaves - 1 sprig


  • Chilly Powder - 1tbsp


  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon


  • Coriander Powder - 1tbsp


  • Garam masala -1 tablespoon


  • Pepper powder- 11/2 tablespoon


  • Salt -2-3 teaspoon to taste


  • Coconut Oil - 21/2 tablespoon


  • For the marinade:- Beef - 1/2 kg


  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon


  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tablespoon


  • Pepper powder- 1tsp


  • Garam masala -1tsp


  • salt - 2-3 teaspoon as per required

Directions

  • Cut the beef into small pieces and wash it thoroughly.
  • Marinate the beef pieces with the ingredients for marination for half an hour.
  • Cook the marinated beef in a pressure cooker, add a little water just enough to cover the meat. Pressure cook for 4 whistles and then remove the cooker from the flame. Allow it to rest until the pressure goes off. keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the coconut bites. As it starts to brown. keep aside.
  • .Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds. Add dry chilly, sliced shallots, green chilly, ginger curry leaves. Saute until the shallot turns translucent.
  • Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, garam masala saute till raw smell goes off.
  • Now add the fried coconut bites, and mix well together. Add salt to taste.
  • Remove the lid from the pressure cooker, add 1 tablespoon of beef gravy to the fried coconut, mix it well.
  • Next, transfer the cooked beef and mix well with the masala and cook on a medium flame until the gravy dries out. Add salt as needed.
  • When the gravy dries out, reduce the flame to a low and saute the beef in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Add the curry leaves and mix well together. scrape the sides of the pan, toss until the meat is brown/ black and dries out completely.
