  • All purpose flour 1 cup

  • Powdered sugar 1/2 cup

  • Cocoa powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red food color 1 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Baking soda 1/4 teaspoon

  • Butter 1/2 cup

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Whipped cream 200 grams

  • Icing sugar 1/4 cup


  • First mix luke warm milk with lemon juice for 5 mins and keep aside
  • Sieve all the dry ingredients 3 times.
  • Beat butter and sugar till fluffy, then add red food colour in it and mix it up well.
  • Now add the sieved dry ingredients and butter and the milk and mix well.
  • Now take a greased and dusted cake mould and transfer the batter in it.
  • Keep it inside the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Check with a toothpick if it comes clean
  • Once baked, demould it and let it cool.
  • Once cooled, cut it into half horizontally. Now whip the cream till soft peaks appear.add Icing sugar and whip it well for 4-5 mins.. Spread whipped cream all over and place the other half..cover the cake with whipped cream
  • Decorate the centre and sides with the cake crumbs, your Red Velvet Cake is ready.
  • Serve.
