preheat oven to 180 and prepare cake tin
Sieve flours, baking powder and salt in a bowl and keep it aside
Blend sugar and butter in a bowl until creamy
Add eggs 1 at a time and beat until pale and frothy
Add vanilla extract and blend well
Add milk and blend well
Slowly add dry ingredients. Cut and fold gently until just combined
Pour batter into big cake pan or 2 small pans. Level evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until done
Allow to cool for 30 minutes. Demould
If prepared 1 big cake, then slice into 2 parts
Whip cream to form stiff peaks
On serving dish, place 1 cake or sliced cake
Spread jam evenly on top
Spread cream on top of jam
Now place second cake or second sliced cake on top
Dust with powdered sugar. Slice and serve
