Ingredients
Serves 4
1 cup Masoor Dal
1 medium size onion chopped
1 medium size tomato chopped
2 green chilli chopped
1 inch ginger chopped
4 cloves garlic minced
Kalonji 1 tsp
Whole Spices: 1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 bay leaf
Asofetida 1/4 tsp
Dry Spices: 1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp tumeric powder
1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp ghee
1/2 lime or lemon juice
Salt 1/2 tsp
Fresh cilantro 1 handfull for garnish
1 tbsp butter
Directions
Heat the wok on medium flame. Add Oil, Ghee, Dry spices, saute for few minutes.
Add onion, ginger, garlic, saute untill raw smell of garlic is no more, 2 to 3 minutes.
Add tomatoes, green chilli, dry spices, saute for couple of min.
Add rinsed and drained Masoor Dal, 2 tbsp of water, salt to taste. Cook for 7-10 min.
Adjust seasoning if required. Add butter , lime juice, cilantro. Serve hot.
