  • 1-1/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/ 4 Cup milk

  • 1 Apple grated

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • for making the frosting..1/2 cup salted butter, softened to room temperature

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar sifted

  • 2 drops of green gel food colouring

  • 2 drops of red gel food colouring


  • in a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon and keep aside.
  • cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy and pale in colour, that will take about 4 minutes
  • beat in the egg on Medium speed until just Combined. Lower the speed on the hand mixer and mix in the flour and milk until fully incorporated.
  • mix in the Apple taking care not to over mix the batter as it can toughen the cake.
  • spoon the batter into your greased cake mould.
  • bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes at 180℃ or until firm to touch. set aside to cool completely.
  • for the frosting beat the softened butter on medium speed for 3 minutes by hand blender until smooth and creamy
  • add sifted powder sugar one spoonful at a time until all the sugar has been Incorporated
  • add milk and mix on high speed for 3 minutes until light and fluffy
  • reserve 1 to 2 tablespoons of frosting and add green food colouring to desired colour
  • add red food colour to the remaining frosting
  • when the cake is completely cooled down, you can design the cake as per your desire using star nozzle.
