Serves : 6
  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 200 ml condensed milk

  • 150 gms maida

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp soda

  • 1 cup Chocolate shavings

  • 400 ml whipping cream

  • 1/3 cup tin cherries

  • 1/2 cup cherry syrup

  • 100 ml water approximately is required


  • Beat condensed milk and butter till fluffy.
  • Then sieve maida, baking powder, soda and Coco powder 2-3 times
  • Add slowly the sifted flour to the creamy mixture
  • Beat well and add water to get dropping consistency
  • Lastly add vanilla extract and mix well
  • Pour in a greased and dusted tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 25 minutes.
  • Or bake till the toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cook on a wire rack and unmould
  • Now slice the cake to two parts
  • Take the bottom part and soak with cherry syrup
  • Beat the cream till soft peaks form
  • Spread this cream on the bottom part
  • Sprinkle some chopped cherries and place the other part of the cake
  • Soak the second layer also with cherry syrup
  • Cover the whole cake with cream on top and sides also
  • Give a gud finishing and sprinkle chocolate shavings on sides and on top of the cake.
  • Make rosettes with whipping cream with star nozzle.
  • Place a cherry on the rosettes.
  • Black Forest Cake is ready to be served
