Koori / Catfish / Fish Curry - easy, tasty & simple
*EPISODE 08 - Koori Catfish Curry (Etta Koori/Mushi)* Koori curry is a very tasty, coastal & backwater delicacy in Kerala. A fish species both found in the river and in the sea. Different kinds are widely available in local fish markets. Manjakoori (Yellow Catfish) usually found in sea and Vellakoori (Long-whiskered Catfish) mostly from the rivers and small streams. A highly demanded and mouthwatering toddy/kallu shop delicacy. Its high in omega3 and considered very healthy. Koori / Catfish eggs are extremely tasty and very addictive.

Ingredients
Serves : 4
1 kgs fish
3 nos green chilly
1 piece ginger
5 nos shallot crushed
1 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp coconut oil
6 nos kudampuli/ cambogia as per taste
2-3 tsp salt to taste
1 nos for gravy:- (make the paste using a blender) garlic
1/2 nos grated coconut
1/4 tsp pepper powder
2 pinch cheriya jeerakam / cumin seed
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 cups water (as per required)
Directions
Grind the gravy ingredients to a fine paste using a blender or traditional grinder.
Once the clay pot / manchatti becomes hot, add the gravy and stir well on a low flame. Also, add curry leaves, ginger, green chilly,kudampuli/cambogia and salt to taste.
Once the gravy starts to boil add the fish pieces.
Cook the fish on low flame for few minutes, till the fish tenders.
