Piri-Piri Phool Makhana Roast


Makhana is also known as Lotus seeds or Foxnut or Gorgon nut, healthy and nutritious rich in protein, V B and dietary minerals. Popped makhana is called as Pool Makhana and used in making the variety of dishes. Makhana kheer is one of the popular dishes which is consumed during fasting especially in Bihar. It helps in regulating blood presser, helps in the aging process, digesting etc. In this recipe, I have roasted Pool makhana in oil and seasoned with leftover readymade Piri-Piri Masala. Quick and easy snack can be prepared at any time.

Serves : 2
  • 1 cups makhana/lotus seeds/foxnuts

  • 1 1/2 tsp oil

  • 1 tbsp piri-piri masala


  • Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add makhana. Roast it until crisp and crunchy. It will take 8-10 minutes for roasting on a low flame.
  • Add Piri-Piri Masala. Toss well.
  • Serve.
