Ingredients

Serves 5

  • raw Peanuts 2 cups

  • Gram flour or Besan 1 cups

  • Rice flour 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • dry Mango powder 1/2 tsp

  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp

  • Garam Masala powder 1/2 tsp

  • Asofetida or Hing 1/4 tsp

  • Salt to taste 1 tsp

  • Cooking oil 2 tbsp

  • water or as required 2-3 tbsp

Directions

    Sieve gram flour or besan to remove any lumps.

    Add rice powder and all the spice powder and salt.

  • 03

    Mix well to combine. Keep aside.

    Take peanuts in a microwave safe bowl and cook for 1 minute in high heat.

    Take out the bowl , add gram flour mixture. Mix well.

    Now add oil and water ( 1 tablespoon at a time) to the peanut mixture and mix them well using hand so that each peanut is coated well with the spice mixture.

    Add water if necessary during mixing . Try to break any lumps while mixing.

    Place the bowl back in the microwave and cook for about 3 minutes.

    Take the bowl out and stir the peanuts with a fork carefully so that they cook uniformly.

    Place the bowl back in the microwave and cook for another 3 minutes.

    Take out the bowl , stir and place the bowl back again in the microwave.

    Cook for 1 more minute, or until you hear a popping sound.

    Monitor them constantly as the cooking time may vary a little at this point.

    Peanuts will be ready when the coating becomes light golden brown and they start popping in the microwave.

    Take out the bowl, transfer peanuts to a dish to cool down.

  • 16

    Store them in airtight container and enjoy with tea or coffee.
