Ingredients
Serves 45
Semolina 165 gms
Plain Yoghurt 125 ml
water 125 ml
frozen peas 40 gms
chopped onions 2 tbsp
small grated carrot 1 nos
frozen or fresh green beans 1/2 cups
roughly broken up ginger 8 gms
peeled and made into a paste green chilli 1-2 nos
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Salt To Taste (Season Well) 1 pinch
Oil 3 tbsp
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Sesame Seeds 1 tsp
Bicarbonate Of Soda 3/4 tsp
Directions
Preheat The Oven To 200C/400F And Oil An 8-9” Loaf Tin. Mix Together The Semolina, Yoghurt, Water, Vegetables, Ginger, Chilli, Spices And Salt. Taste And Adjust If Necessary.
Heat The Oil In A Small Saucepan. Add The Seeds And Cook For 15-20 Seconds Or Until The Mustard Seeds Have Popped And Cumin Is Aromatic.
Stir Into The Batter, Which Should Be Of A Medium Thick Consistency. If Not, Add A Splash Of Water.
Stir In The Bicarbonate Of Soda And Leave For 5 Minutes.
Pour Into The Tin And Bake For 35-40 Minutes Or Until A Toothpick Comes Out Clean.
Serve With Green Chutney.
