  • 1 cups channadal

  • 1/2 cups wheat flour

  • 1 cups sugar / jaggery

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 3/4 tbsp gingelly oil ( for mixing the batter)

  • 1/2 tbsp cow ghee

  • 1 pinch food colour (yellow)

  • 1/2 cups rice flour


  • Cook The Channa Dal For 15 Minutes In A Pressure Cooker. Then Blend Along With Cardomom Powder And Sugar In A Mixer Grinder. Place The Batter In Low Flame Until The Entire Water Content Evaporates. Make Into Small Balls Of Lemon Size.
  • While Channal Dal Is Cooking Make A Batter As Like For Chappatti Of Wheat Flour, Salt A Pinch , Food Colour 1 Pinch. And Spread Some Gingelly Oil Over The Batter And Kept It For 1/2 An Hour.
  • When Both The Mixtures Are Ready . Take A Small Ball Of Wheat Flour And Flattend It , Place The Ball Of Channal Dal Mixture In It And Again Make It Into A Ball , In Between Put Some Rice Flour Over It , And Flattened These Balls Like For Chappattis .
  • Pour Some Ghee In A Hot Pan And Shallow Fry The Mixture For 1-2 Minutes.
  • The Kerala Boli Is Ready To Serve. The Best Combination Of Boli Is With Gheer.
