Description

Dahi Bhalla is deep fried lentil balls dunked in yogurt and topped with different kinds of chutneys and garnished with spice powders. Dahi Bhalla is one of the classic North Indian chaat snakes that is sold as a street food across India.

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups urad dhuli dal


  • 1 pinch hing


  • 1 tsp salt as par taste


  • 1 tbsp oil for frying


  • 1 nos chopped green chilli


  • 1/2 tsp jeera seeds


  • 2 cups for_the_dahi: thick yoghurt


  • 1/2 cups milk


  • 1 pinch sugar


  • 1 tsp dry roasted jeera powder


  • 1 tsp black salt


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp chaat masala


  • 2 tbsp sweet tamarind chutney


  • 1 tsp few pomegranate seeds


  • 1 tbsp boondi


  • 1 tbsp namkeen sev

Directions

  • Soak the dal for 6 hoursin water and keep aside.
  • Then take out extra water and add all the ingredients of the bhalle except oil and grind it into a mixture.
  • In a kadhi heat oil for frying.
  • Now take a tablespoon of the mixture on your palm and place it in the hot oil and fry then till golden crisp.
  • Now deep them in some water for 1/2 hour.
  • Beat the yogurt and add milk and sugar to it.
  • Gently sqeeze water from the bhalle and place them in half the beaten yogurt mixture.
  • Now in a serving plate lay out the dahi and bhalla and then pour some jeera powder black salt powder red chilli powder chaat masala and some sweet chutney.
  • Garnish Dahi Bhalla with pomegranate seeds boondi and sev serve immediately.
