Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 2 cups leftover rice


  • 1 nos onion finely chopped


  • 5 nos garlic cloves finely chopped


  • 2-3 nos whole red chillies


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1.5 tbsp mustard oil /vegetable oil


  • 1 tsp coriander leaves


  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  • First heat a heavy bottom kadai on high flame then add mustard oil in it.
  • Heat oil till smoke comes out. Now reduce flame on low.
  • Break chillies in few pieces then drop cumin seeds and chilly pieces one by one in kadai. Fry for a minute or cumin seeds changes in pink colour.
  • First add garlic and fry for 30 seconds ; after that onion and stir well. Increases flame on medium.
  • Add salt then stir well. Fry onion till light brown colour. Stir trice while cooking.
  • Now add cold rice and stir very well so that salted onion mixture coat everywhere evenly.
  • Sprinkle water on rice then stir again. Now reduce heat on low. Cover kadai with lid and cook for another 2 minutes. Switch off the gas stove.
  • Remove the lid sprinkle coriander leaves and stir just once very gently.
  • Quick, easy and yummy food is ready to serve.
