Southwestern Coleslaw


Coleslaw also known as Cole Slaw or Slaw which means Koolsla (In Dutch) “Cabbage Salad” is a salad consisting primarily of finely shredded raw cabbage with a salad dressing either Vinegar or Mayonnaise. It is served a side dish with many veg non-veg dishes. Also, widely used in sandwich or burger preparations.

Serves : 2
  • 3/4 cups finely shredded cabbage

  • 1/4 cups julienned carrots

  • 1/4 cups finely shredded fresh lettuce

  • 1 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp thick fresh curd

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes

  • 1/4 tsp salt to taste


  • In a bowl mix finely shredded cabbage, shredded lettuce leaves, Carrot julienne.
  • In another bowl take curd, mayonnaise, red chili flakes, ground black peppercorns, honey, salt. mix well until it combined. The dressing is ready.
  • Pour over shredded vegetables and toss well.
  • Refrigerate until ready to use
