Stuffed Gulab Jamun


Gulab jamun is one sweet which is my family's favourite and it is a must to prepare during any festival and get together.  Here the juicy gulab jamuns are filled with dry fruits mixture to make them royal and delicious.

Serves : 10
  • 1 1/2 cups for gulab jamun balls:milk powder

  • 3/4 cups milk

  • 2 tbsp ghee

  • 1/2 cups refined flour

  • 2 pinch baking soda

  • 1/4 cups grated paneer

  • 2 tsp for the filling of gulab jamun : chopped pistachios

  • 1 tsp fine sugar

  • 2 tbsp milk powder

  • 10 nos saffron threads

  • 1 cups ghee for frying

  • 2 cups for sugar syrup: sugar

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 10 nos saffron threads


  • Make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water till it becomes little thick, add saffron and cardamom powder and keep it warm.
  • Mix all four ingredients listed under filling and make very small balls of pistachios for center of gulab jamuns
  • To make Gulab Jamun: take milk powder and ghee and baking soda and mix well.
  • Then add paneer and milk and make a very soft dough.
  • Mix everything nicely and make small lemon size balls and fill centre with pista mixture.,
  • Fry till dark brown on slow flame in hot ghee, keep turning them occasionally for the even brown colour.
  • Take them out on a plate and transfer in the warm sugar syrup and soak in,
  • leave for half an hour it will become double in size.
  • Serve hot or warm as per the choice.
