Description

Preparation of Til Mava laddoos is a tradition in our family on the auspicious and festive occasions. These melt-in-the-mouth laddoos are made with white sesame seeds, khowa/mava and sugar.  Til is rich in iron and also keeps us warm in winters.

Ingredients

Serves : 15
  • 250 gms til/ sesame seeds (white til)


  • 250 gms mava


  • 350 gms boora/ powdered sugar


  • 1 tbsp chopped dry fruits like pistachios and cashews (optional)


  • 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder

Directions

  • Roast the til to a light brown shade.
  • Start at high and then turn the flame on low to roast til, keep turning them continuously.
  • Leave them aside to cool.
  • In a nonstick pan cook mava for around 5 minutes.
  • Switch off the gas when mava comes together.
  • While the mava is cooling down grind the til to a coarse mixture.
  • Add til, cardamom powder and powdered sugar to the mava and mix thoroughly.
  • Shape into walnut sized round balls to make laddoos.
  • Arrange the Til khowa Laddoos in a plate and garnish with chopped pistachios and its ready to serve.
