Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 250 gms besan/gram flour


  • 150 gms pure ghee


  • 150 gms sugar powdered


  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder


  • 10 nos saffron strands

Directions

  • Take ghee in a pan and switch on the flame
  • Add besan and keep stirring for five minutes
  • Switch off the flame and toast besan for a few more minutes
  • Transfer to a bowl and allow to cool for 3 to 4 hours
  • Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, powdered cashew and mix
  • Wait for 10 minutes
  • Later make balls of these and adapt to greased modak moulds
  • Decorate with saffron strands
  • Tasty besan modaks are ready
