  • All purpose flour 1 cups

  • sooji/rawa/semolina 1/4 cups

  • oil 2 tsp

  • salt 1 pinch

  • milk (warm) 1/2 cups

  • poppy seeds 1 tsp

  • dry grated coconut 1 cups

  • powdered sugar 1 cups

  • cardamom powder 1 tsp

  • assorted nuts 4-5 tsp

  • rice flour 2 tsp

  • ghee 2 tsp

  • oil for frying 3 tbsp


  • For cover: Heat up 2 tsp oil and Mix all purpose flour, sooji, salt in to a bowl and pour hot oil over it. Mix well till the time mixture becomes crumbly.
  • Pour warm milk slowly to make medium consistency dough, cover & keep the dough for 30 mts.
  • For Stuffing: Dry roast 1 tsp sooji and poppy seeds separately till the time they get light brown color.
  • Add coconut ,sugar, cardamom powder, dry fruits and mix well.
  • To make Karanji take the dough and again knead t it 5 minutes. Divide it in to 3 equal parts. Roll them in to thin roti.Mix rice flour and ghee to make it smooth and creamy.
  • Now take one thin roti, spread rice flour mixture evenly on it,
  • Roll the roti like Swiss Roll.
  • Now roll like poori, add stuffing, apply milk around its edges and seal the karanji well.Give any desired design on the egdes and deep fry untill golden brown.
  • Serve hot and store in an airtight container.
