  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • 2 tsp vanilla essence

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup dark chocolate

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp colourful sprinkles


  • Sieve the flour,cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt together and keep aside.
  • Whisk the eggs and the two sugar together.
  • Add oil and vanilla essence to this mix .
  • Add the flour mix and buttermilk to this mix alternatively till a lump free batter is formed.
  • Line the muffin tray with cupcake liners and pour the batter till half full.
  • Bake these in preheated oven at 180 degree celsius for 18-20 mins or till a skewer comes out clean.
  • To make the ganache frosting,put the chocolate and cream in microwave safe bowl.
  • Heat it in microwave for intervals of 30 seconds till the cream is warm.
  • Mix it well to till the chocolate melts completely and then let it cool.
  • For the assembly, let the cupcakes and frosting cool completely.
  • Put some frosting on the cupcakes and garnish with sprinkles.
