Ingredients

Serves 5

  • Yellow Moong Dal 1 cups

  • Ghee 1 cups

  • Milk 3 cups

  • Khoya 200 gms

  • Sugar 1 1/2 cups

  • Big elaichi coarse powder 1 tsp

  • Saffron 1 pinch

  • Almonds Chopped 10-12 nos

  • Cashew Nuts Chopped 10-12 nos

Directions

    Wash and soak moong dal in water for 5-6 hours.

    Drain the water completely.

  • 03

    Grind the dal coarsely in a bender without any water

  • 04

    Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan.

  • 05

    Add the ground dal.

  • 06

    Fry the dal on very low heat till it turns light golden brown.

  • 07

    Add milk and cook till all the milk is absorbed by the dal.

  • 08

    Add the khoya and dry fruits.

  • 09

    Mix well.

  • 10

    Add sugar, black cardamom powder and saffron.

  • 11

    Cook on low heat till the halwa turns brown and starts to leave ghee from sides.

    Keep stirring throughout.

    Serve Hot
