Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups mashed potatoes


  • 2 tbsp buckwheat flour


  • 1/4 cups grated khoya


  • 2 cups sugar


  • 1 cups water


  • 1/2 tsp rose water


  • 6-7 nos saffron strands


  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Directions

  • add mashed potatoes and khoya in a bowl and mix well
  • add flour if require add Pinch of baking soda and mix well. I have skipped baking soda, you can add it if required
  • mix well perform soft dough
  • shape the dough into equal small or medium sized balls without any cracks. keep it aside
  • Add sugar and water in a bowl , cook until it reaches half string consistency switch off
  • add Saffron cardamom powder and rosewater mix well and keep it aside
  • heat ghee or oil for deep frying. drop potato balls into the hot oil
  • fry Jamun over medium heat let it remain in hot oil for 1 minute before flipping
  • deep fry until well browned from all sides
  • Drain excess oil over tissue paper , immediately add them to the warm sugar syrup let it soak for few hours
  • Garnish with nuts and serve cold
