Ingredients

Serves 10

  • sugar 2 cups

  • ghee 3 cups

  • baking soda 1 pinch

  • water 1 cups

  • Gram flour/ besan 1 cups

Directions

    Add 1 cup ghee in a pan and heat it over medium flame.

    Once the ghee is sufficiently hot, add gram flour in it and fry it for few minutes. till the raw smell goes away.

    In other pan boil water and add sugar in it, boil it till it reaches one string consistency.

    Now add the fried gram flour and mix it well till it thickens.

    Heat remaining ghee and gently add the gram flour mixture. keep stirring all the time to avoid lumps.

    when ghee starts to rise from the sides , when it seperates add cooking soda.

    Stir it and pour the mixture on a greased plate.Spread the mixture gently and allow it to cool.

    Slice it with a knife before it hardens.

    This south Indian sweet delicacy is ready to it. Store it in an airtight container .
