Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • sugar 2 cups


  • ghee 3 cups


  • baking soda 1 pinch


  • water 1 cups


  • Gram flour/ besan 1 cups

Directions

  • Add 1 cup ghee in a pan and heat it over medium flame.
  • Once the ghee is sufficiently hot, add gram flour in it and fry it for few minutes. till the raw smell goes away.
  • In other pan boil water and add sugar in it, boil it till it reaches one string consistency.
  • Now add the fried gram flour and mix it well till it thickens.
  • Heat remaining ghee and gently add the gram flour mixture. keep stirring all the time to avoid lumps.
  • when ghee starts to rise from the sides , when it seperates add cooking soda.
  • Stir it and pour the mixture on a greased plate.Spread the mixture gently and allow it to cool.
  • Slice it with a knife before it hardens.
  • This south Indian sweet delicacy is ready to it. Store it in an airtight container .
