Pineapple Halwa

Description

A sweet or dessert made from semolina, sugar, ghee and pineapple pieces. This dish is popularly known as Pineapple Rava Kesari in southern India. The basic suji ka halwa is the most popular sweet recipe. Today I am sharing the variation of it using pineapple in it.

Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 2 tbsp ghee


  • 1/2 cups semolina


  • 1/2 cups sugar


  • 1 cups chopped pineapple


  • 1 tbsp cashew nut


  • 1 tbsp raisins


  • 7-8 nos saffron strands


  • 3 nos chopped almonds


  • 1 1/2 cups water

Directions

  • Take water in a saucepan and let it come to a simmer to medium heat.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan on medium heat. Once hot add cashews and raisins. Fry them till cashews are golden brown.
  • Now add sooji and saffron and roast it with stirring continuously on medium-low heat.
  • Keep roasting till it gets the slightly brown color.
  • Now add chopped pineapple and mix well and continue cooking with stirring till pineapple becomes soft.
  • Now add hot water and sugar.
  • Cook with stirring constantly till water will be absorbed by sooji.
