Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1.5 cups milk


  • 1 cups sugar


  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts


  • 1/4 cups corn flour


  • 1/4 cups ghee


  • 1-2 drop any food colouring


  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Directions

  • in a pan add sugar corn flour and 1/4 Cup ghee
  • add milk and mix well
  • cook over low medium heat until mixture starts thickening and gets paste like consistency
  • add cardamom powder and mix well
  • add 2 teaspoon ghee and mix well
  • divide the mixture into parts, you can make halwa with no food colouring or different food colours as desired
  • in the first Pan add no colour cook until the mixture is glossy and completely leaves the sides of the pan
  • in second pan, add the desired food colouring and mix well
  • Cook until mixture leaves the sides of the pan completely
  • Pour the mixture over the greased butter paper
  • both the mixture should be on a different Greased butter paper
  • place another Greased butter paper on top of both halwa. Tap with hands
  • Peel off the butter paper
  • Add nuts on top of halwa
  • Place the same greased butter paper again on top and press gently so that nuts are embedded in halwa
  • Peel off the butter paper and allow to set for 2-3 hours
  • Repeat the same process with second Halwa and allow to set for 2-3 hours
  • Trim edges of the halwa. Cut into squares with the paper
  • Refrigerate upto 1 week. Serve as desired
