Ingredients

  • 1 cups boiled potato


  • 1 tbsp cornflour


  • 1 tsp chopped green chillies


  • 2 tsp chopped coriander


  • 1/2 cups grated paneer


  • 1 pinch chat masala


  • 2 cups oil for deep frying


  • 1 1/2 tbsp for dal:chana dal


  • 2 tbsp dhuli moong dal


  • 2 tbsp tuvar dal


  • 1 tbsp urad dal


  • 1 tsp dhuli masoor dal


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/4 cups chopped onion


  • 1/3 cups chopped red tomatoes


  • 2 tsp chopped green chillies


  • 1 tsp sambar masala


  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 8-10 nos curry leaves


  • 2 nos slit green chillies


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic

Directions

  • In a bowl mix potatoes, cornflour,salt, green chillies and coriander. Mix well
  • In another bowl mix grated paneer with salt and chat masala . Take a small portion of the potato mixture and flatten it with the help of your palm.
  • Put little paneer filling in the centre and wrap from all the sides, making a small ball.
  • Repeat the procedure with rest of the potato and paneer mix. Make sure the ball surface is smooth.
  • Deep fry these balls in hot oil on medium flame. Strain on a kitchen towel and keep aside.
  • Mix all the assorted lentils and wash. Now boil them in a pressure cooker with water, salt , turmeric powder, onion, tomatoes and chillies.
  • Once cooked mix well. For tampering take ghee and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • Let them splutter. Add garlic and stir till golden. Now add curry leaves, chilli and sambhar masala and switch off the flame .
  • Pour the tampering over the hot dal and dunk in the fried dumplings .
  • Switch off the flame and serve hot .
