  • 1 1/4 cups wheat flour

  • 3/4 cups maize flour

  • 1/4 cups brown sugar

  • 120 gms unsalted butter at room temperature

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 nos egg

  • 1/2 cups caster sugar

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • Sieve wheat flour and baking soda in a bowl
  • No w sieve maize flour and salt in same bowl. Mix everything well together. Keep it aside
  • Blend butter, caster sugar and brown sugar in a bowl until creamy
  • Add vanilla extract and egg. Beat until pale and frothy. add honey and mix well
  • Slowly add dry ingredients and knead into dough
  • Cover and refrigerate dough for 20 minutes
  • Preheat oven to 160 and line baking tray
  • Cut the cookie dough into desired shape using cookie cutter
  • Place them on prepared baking tray leaving gap between them
  • Bake for 11-13 minutes until golden brown on edges
  • Allow to cool for 30 minutes. you can add powdered sugar on top of the cookies for additional taste
  • Cool cookies completely on wire rack
  • Store in airtight container and serve as required
