Ingredients

Serves 10

  • wheat flour 1 1/4 cups

  • maize flour 3/4 cups

  • brown sugar 1/4 cups

  • unsalted butter at room temperature 120 gms

  • honey 2 tbsp

  • egg 1 nos

  • caster sugar 1/2 cups

  • baking soda 1/2 tsp

  • salt 1/4 tsp

  • vanilla extract 1 tsp

Directions

    Sieve wheat flour and baking soda in a bowl

    No w sieve maize flour and salt in same bowl. Mix everything well together. Keep it aside

    Blend butter, caster sugar and brown sugar in a bowl until creamy

  • 04

    Add vanilla extract and egg. Beat until pale and frothy. add honey and mix well

  • 05

    Slowly add dry ingredients and knead into dough

  • 06

    Cover and refrigerate dough for 20 minutes

    Preheat oven to 160 and line baking tray

  • 08

    Cut the cookie dough into desired shape using cookie cutter

    Place them on prepared baking tray leaving gap between them

    Bake for 11-13 minutes until golden brown on edges

    Allow to cool for 30 minutes. you can add powdered sugar on top of the cookies for additional taste

    Cool cookies completely on wire rack

  • 13

    Store in airtight container and serve as required
