Ingredients

Serves : 25
  • 1 kgs flattened rice


  • 1/4 kgs groundnuts


  • 200 gms dry coconut


  • 100 gms cashewnuts


  • 3 tsp salt to taste


  • 10 nos green chillies


  • 25-30 nos curry leaves


  • 1-2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 nos gathiya for garnishing

Directions

  • Dry roast flattened rice in a dekchi
  • Remove in a bowl once done and keep aside
  • Heat oil in a same dekhi
  • Add mustard and cumin seeds and saute
  • Add chopped green chillies and saute again
  • Add curry leaves and saute
  • Add asafoetida
  • Add groundnuts and saute for about 5 to 10 minutes
  • Add cashew nuts and saute again for 5 minutes
  • Add dry coconut and saute again
  • Once dry coconut turns golden brown in color add turmeric powder
  • Add salt and give it a mix
  • Add dry roasted flattened rice and mix well
  • Remove in a serving bowl
  • Garnish with some gathiya
