Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups daal (masoor and urad daal mixed or yellow moong daal)


  • 1/2 nos onion (chopped)


  • 2 nos tomatoes (chopped)


  • 1 pinch salt


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 nos tamarind


  • 1/4 tsp ginger paste


  • 1/2 tsp sambhar masala


  • 1/2 tsp vaghaar:mustard seeds


  • 1/2 tsp cummin seeds


  • 1/2 tsp lil fenugreek seeds


  • 1/2 tsp lil hing


  • 1 tbsp crushed garlic


  • 1 tsp kasuri methi


  • 8-10 nos curry leaves

Directions

  • in pressure cooker put 2 tbsp ghee then add the tempering ingredients as it splutters add tomatoes n braise a little then add daal n the rest of spices with water
  • Let it cook on 3 whistles remove in a pot, now do tadka...

  • Smoke of Chillies (Tadka): mek a foil bowl put 1 tsp ghee in it add 3 dried red chillies n curry leaves then lower red hot charcoal on it n lower in the pot and close the lid and keep something heavy on the lid.
  • keep something heavy on the lid.
  • mek sure you don’t inhale de smoke, should be fast...
  • Let the smoke stay for 20mins then remuv the charcoal n put chillies in daal.
  • Garnish wid chopped corriander leaves n green chillies....
