Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Phool Makhana 1 cups

  • full fat milk 3.5 cups

  • saffron strands 5-6 nos

  • cashews 3 tbsp

  • ghee 2 tbsp

  • sugar adjust 1/3 cups

  • cardamom powder 1/4 tsp

Directions

    Heat ghee in a pan

  • 02

    Roast cashews until golden brown. Keep it aside

  • 03

    In same pan, roast Makhana until crisp and light brown. Keep it aside

  • 04

    Reserve 1/2 of Makhana and grind remaining to coarse powder

  • 05

    Boil milk over medium heat stirring occasionally

  • 06

    Simmer and cook Milk for 7-8 minutes stirring in between

  • 07

    Add saffron and mix well

  • 08

    Add coarse Makhana powder and mix well

  • 09

    Add reserved Makhana and mix well. Cook for 8-9 minutes

  • 10

    Add sugar and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally

  • 11

    Add cardamom powder and mix. Cook for 1-2 minutes

  • 12

    Garnish kheer with roasted cashews. Serve warm or cold as desired
