Tricoloured Bread paneer pakode with oriental sauce

  • 250 gms paneer stuffing :paneer

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder

  • 2 tsp green chutney

  • 2 tsp hot and sweet tomato ketchup

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)

  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste

  • 3/4 cups for the batter:besan

  • 1/3 cups water

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)

  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder

  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)

  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste

  • 4 nos whole wheat bread slices

  • 2 cups oil for deep-frying


  • Cut paneer into bread size square, mix salt, chaat masala, chilli powder and coriander , and sprinkle on paneer slices.
  • Place a slice of bread on a , dry surface and spread tomato ketchup, then place a slice of paneer over it.
  • Spread green chutney on another bread slice and place over it, press lightly and cut it diagonally into 2 equal pieces.
  • Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 2 more pieces.
  • Prepare besan batter of medium consistency by adding water.
  • Dip each piece in the batter till it is evenly coated from all the sides, slide in hot oil and deep-fry on a medium flame till the pakodas turn golden in colour and crisp from both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup or oriental sauce and crispy wafers.Happy eating! !!!
