Potato Gnochchis In Dal Soup

Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • Moong dal 1/2 cup


  • Masoor dal 1/2 cup


  • Salt 1 or 2 tsp


  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp


  • Jeera 1tsp


  • Tomato 1 finely chopped


  • Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon


  • Hing 1 pinch


  • Potato 2 boiled and peeled


  • Maida 1 cup


  • Butter 1 tbsp


  • Baking soda 1/2tsp


  • Red chilli powder 1tsp

Directions

  • Grate the potatoes
  • Add maida salt and baking soda
  • Add butter
  • Make a smooth dough
  • Make small portions of the dough which must resemble less than size of a marble
  • Now take a fork and press the dough ball against it so that we get a design on the dough and it also becomes shell shaped
  • Dust some dry flour so that they don't stick to each other
  • Boil some water in a pan. Add some oil in the boiling water
  • When it starts boiling drop the Gnochchis in it
  • Cook till the Gnochchis float on the water
  • Meanwhile pressure cook the dal with some salt and water and turmeric powder. Cook for 3 whistles.
  • In a pan add some oil
  • Add jeera
  • Add ginger garlic paste
  • Add tomato
  • Add hing
  • Now add the Gnochchis and red chilli powder
  • Cook for a while
  • Add the cooked dal
  • Let simmer on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Garnish with basil leaf or coriander
