Ingredients

Serves 2

  • Moong dal 1/2 cup

  • Masoor dal 1/2 cup

  • Salt 1 or 2 tsp

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • Jeera 1tsp

  • Tomato 1 finely chopped

  • Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon

  • Hing 1 pinch

  • Potato 2 boiled and peeled

  • Maida 1 cup

  • Butter 1 tbsp

  • Baking soda 1/2tsp

  • Red chilli powder 1tsp

    Grate the potatoes

    Add maida salt and baking soda

    Add butter

  • 04

    Make a smooth dough

  • 05

    Make small portions of the dough which must resemble less than size of a marble

  • 06

    Now take a fork and press the dough ball against it so that we get a design on the dough and it also becomes shell shaped

    Dust some dry flour so that they don't stick to each other

    Boil some water in a pan. Add some oil in the boiling water

    When it starts boiling drop the Gnochchis in it

    Cook till the Gnochchis float on the water

    Meanwhile pressure cook the dal with some salt and water and turmeric powder. Cook for 3 whistles.

    In a pan add some oil

    Add jeera

    Add ginger garlic paste

    Add tomato

    Add hing

    Now add the Gnochchis and red chilli powder

    Cook for a while

    Add the cooked dal

    Let simmer on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes

    Garnish with basil leaf or coriander
