500 gms fish
15 green chillies or as per taste
2 inches ginger
10 Garlic cloves
3 tbsps Bamboo Shoot shredded or minced
1-2 tbsp Salt or to taste
2 cups Water or as required
In a pan add the cleaned fish.
Coarsely ground the green chillies, ginger and garlic and add them to the fish. Add the Bamboo Shoot to the pan.
Add salt as per taste and gently mix them well together.
Add required water covering the fish completely.
Cover the pan and cook on medium flame till the water is completely evaporated approx 15-20 mins.
￼ Your boiled fish with bamboo shoots is ready. Let it cool down completely and gently spoon them in a serving dish and serve with steamed rice.
Note : If one cannot source Bamboo Shoot you can substitute Bamboo Shoot with tomatoes. At the end of the preparation you can add some chopped coriander leaves as garnish, traditionally we don't add them but with passage of time people started adding them as garnish. This dish is served best the next day.
