Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 2 nos for inner layer : sandwich bread


  • 1 nos cheese slice


  • 2 nos boiled and mashed potatoes


  • 1 tbsp garlic chutney as needed


  • 1 tbsp butter as needed


  • 2 nos for outer layer : green chilies finely chopped


  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder


  • 3-4 nos curry leaves chopped


  • 5-6 nos mint leaves chopped


  • 1 pinch mustard seeds


  • 1/4 tsp salt to taste


  • 1 tsp fennel seeds


  • 1/2 cups gram flour


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 1/8 tsp for covering : rice flour


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/8 tsp salt


  • 1 pinch baking soda


  • 3 tbsp oil for frying


  • 1 tbsp serve with... tomato ketchup green chutney

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, when they crackle add green chilies.
  • Add chopped curry leaves, coriander, fennel, mint leaves and remove from flame.
  • Take boiled and mashed potatoes in another bowl and add mixture to it.
  • Add chopped mint leaves, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix well.Keep aside.
  • Inside of bread, apply green chutney and garlic chutney on each side.Cut them into 4 parts. cover and shallow fry with butter to crisp.
  • Cut cheese slice into 4 parts and place inside the crispy slices.
  • Mix all the ingredients of covering and make semi thick better from it by adding sufficient water.
  • Cover square ready bread slice with potato mixture properly.Heat oil. Dip vada in better and fry in hot oil.When ready drain on absorbent paper and keep aside.
  • Serve hot Cheese Vada Pav with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
