Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1/3 cups a) for khichdi : split green gram


  • 1/4 cups split yellow lentils


  • 3 cups water


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 2 cups rice


  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • 4-5 nos b) for tadka :finely chopped garlic cloves


  • 1/4 tsp musterd seeds


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 4-5 nos curry leaves


  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tbsp oil


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 2-3 nos dry red chillies


  • 1/2 cups coriander leaves

Directions

  • First rinse rice and lentils in water.
  • Drain the water and transfer them to a pressure cooker.
  • Add water, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Mix well and Cover the pressure cooker.
  • Pressure cook it for 4 whistles.
  • Make sure the flame is medium to high.
  • Now turn off the.
  • Let the pressure cooker cool completely.
  • After that open the lead and stir & mix the Khichdi.
  • Now please the Khichdi in matka.
  • Take a pan.
  • Heat some oil.
  • Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • Let them pop.
  • After that add garlic and curry leaves.
  • Saute well.
  • Add dry Red Chillies.
  • Now turn off the flame and red chilli powder and cumin powder.
  • Mix it well.
  • Poor the mixture Over The Khichdi in Matka.
  • Mix with spoon.
  • Pour some ghee on top also add coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with kadhi, curd or chass.
