Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1/3 cups a) for daal :split bengal gram


  • 1/3 cups pigeon peas


  • 1 tbsp split green gram


  • 1 tbsp split black lentils


  • 3 tsp whole green gram


  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 2-3 nos cloves laung


  • 1 nos bay leave


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 2 nos green chillies


  • 1 pinch asafoetida


  • 2 tsp dried mangi powder


  • 2 tsp tamarind pulp


  • 3 tsp ghee


  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • 1 cups b) for baati : whole wheat flour


  • 1/2 cups semolina


  • 2 tbsp gram flour


  • 8 tbsp milk


  • 4 tbsp ghee


  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • 1 cups c) for serving : melted ghee


  • 1 cups churma

Directions

  • Clean and wash all the lentils.
  • After that add it into a pressure cooker.
  • Also add 4 cups of water.
  • Cook it for 2-3 whistles.
  • After that turn off the flame.
  • And let pressure cooker cool down itself.
  • Meanwhile take a bowl.
  • Add Red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam Masala Powder.
  • Mix all the Ingredients well.
  • Now add little water and mix it well.
  • Keep aside.
  • Now heat ghee in one pan.
  • After heating ghee, add cloves, bay leaf, cumin seeds, Green Chillies and asafoetida.
  • When Cumin Seeds starts crackle, add prepared masla paste into it.
  • Saute it for 2 minites.
  • After that add cooked daal into it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add tamarind pulp and dried mango powder.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add water as require to ajdust the consistency.
  • Simmer it for 5 minutes.
  • After that turn off the flame.
  • Keep daal aside.
  • Now take a bowl.
  • Add wheat flour, gram flour and semolina into it.
  • Also add milk and ghee.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Now kneed into a firm dough.
  • Add water if require.
  • Kneed it well for 5 minites.
  • Now divde the dough into 8 equal parts.
  • And shape each part into the round shape.
  • Flatten the rounds lightly using hands and make an indication in thr center of baati.
  • Now take a baati maker.
  • And place the baaties into it.
  • Cook it for 15-20 minites.
  • When the baaties are cooked remove it from maker and keep aside.
  • Now take a large pot.
  • Add ghee into it.
  • Dip the baatis into it for 10 minites.
  • After that drain it.
  • Serve hot with daal and churma.
  • Pour the ghee into it while eating.
