Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cup gram flour


  • 3 tbsp oil


  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds


  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 small onion


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1 medium onion


  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste


  • 2 medium tomatoes


  • 2-3 green chillies


  • 1 1/2 cup water


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp coriander powder


  • 1 tsp cumin powder


  • 1 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 cup oil ,for frying aani


  • 1 tsp fresh coriander leaves

Directions

  • To make aani, add salt and red chilli powder to a small cut onion and leave for 5 mins.
  • When onion gets soft,add gram flour,oil,turmeric powder,poppy seeds and garam masala powder.
  • Use little water at a time to make a slightly hard dough.
  • Make aani of any shape you prefer.
  • Deep fry these in oil at low to medium flame.
  • To prepare gravy,take oil in a pan and add onion to it.
  • When onion is little brown add ginger garlic paste and cook for a min.
  • Add tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add in salt,green chillies and all dry spices and mix well.
  • Let the tomatoes get soft then add water.
  • When water comes to boil ,add aani to the gravy and turn flame to low.
  • Let the aani cook for 10-15 mins till they get little soft.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
