Fried Modak

Serves 4

  • freshly grated coconut 1 cups

  • jaggery 3/4 cups

  • cardamom powder 1/4 tsp

  • poppy seeds 1 tbsp

  • all purpose flour maida 1/2 cups

  • semolina 1/4 cups

  • oil 1 tbsp

  • milk 3-4 tbsp

  • salt 1/4 tsp

  • Oil for deep frying 1 cups

  • milk 1/2 cups

    Heat Pan add one teaspoon of ghee once the ji is hot add freshly grated coconut and roast for 3 to 4 minutes

    Add jaggery mix them well

    Let the mixture become dry add cardamom powder and poppy seeds Sesame seeds

    Do not over cook or else the stuffing will be too dry and hard

    take all purpose flour semolina salt in a bowl add a tablespoon of oil and mix well with your fingertips

    Add milk little and made into a stiff and smooth dough. Let it sit for a few15 minutes

    Take a small ball from other from dough

    Roulette using rolling pin in a small Puri keep the ages thinner than those are apart then the centre part

    Take Puri in your Palms Put some stuffing in the centre start pinching the ages with your finger and ThumbNow bring all the plates together in the centre very carefully

    And then close them together to seal it properly

    Do the same for all the models Modak.

    heat oil in a pan and deep fried modak till golden brown and crispy.

    Fry all the modak accordingly your modak are ready to serve.
