Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Bisi Bele Bath Powder: 3-4tsp


  • Rice - 1 Mdm glass


  • Toor dal - 3/4 mdm glass


  • Tomato - 2 big


  • Onion - 1 big


  • Carrot - 1 big


  • Beans - 10-13 no's


  • Aloo - 1 big


  • Green peas - 1 small cup


  • Nol col - 1 small


  • Curry leaves - 2 springs


  • Groundnut - 1/2 cup


  • Oil - 4 tbsp


  • Salt - 2.5 tsp(Adjust according to taste)


  • Jagerry - 4 tsp


  • Tamarind pulp - 5 tsp


  • For tempering:- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp


  • Curry leaves - 1 spring


  • Cashew - 10 -15 no's


  • Capsicum - 1/2 cup chopped


  • Water - 5 Glass


  • Dry red chilli - 3


  • Hing - 2 pinch


  • Desi ghee - 2 tbsp ( For serving)


  • Khara bhoondi - 1/2 cup (For serving)

Directions

  • Make Bisi bele bath powder :-
  • U need to take Dry red chilli - 7-8 no's, Byadagi chilli - 10, Dalchini - 2 pieces, Cloves - 2 no's, Pepper corns - 5 no's ,Cumin(Jeera) - 1tsp,coriander seeds - 3tsp,Chana dal - 3 tsp and Urad dal - 3tsp
  • Dry roast the above ingridients separately with little oil
  • Let it cool for some time and powder the mixture with 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds(Don't add water)
  • Now Bisibele bath powder is ready to use and prepare the dish
  • U need two cookers
  • Take one cooker add toor dal 3/4 glass,1 spring curry leaves,2 chopped tomatoes.Cook this dal for 5 visuals
  • Switch off the flame and keep aside
  • Now chop carrot,aloo and nol khol(navilu kosu or gedde kosu) in to mdm cubes and cut all the beans into 1 inch
  • Take another cooker to this add oil,once it gets heated add ground nut and next chopped onion and fry for 2 mins
  • Add in the chopped the green peas and chopped vegetables and fry for a while
  • Once u fry the vegetables add 3-4 tsp of bisibele bath powder and mix well
  • Now add washed rice and 3 glass of water
  • Mix in the required amount of salt and close the cooker lid and cook for two whistles
  • Now dal mixtures and rice and vegetable mixture are ready
  • Take a thick bottom big vessel to this add cooked dal mixture and cooked rice with vegetable mixture and combine well and keep for boiling
  • To this add tamarind pulp and jagery powder and adjust water and salt by checking and cook for abt 10 mins and switch off the flame
  • Finally u need to give TAMPERING, for this take a tempering pan add 2tsp Ghee once heated add Mustard seeds,Dry chilli,Hing,Cashew,Curry leaves and Chopped Capsicum and fry it and add this on top of bisibele bath
  • Serve this delicious Mysore style Bisibele Bath with desi ghee on top and khara boondi
  • Note: U can make powder and store in an airtight container for future use and u can add more water for the desired consistency like not too thick like rice bath nor too thin
  • This Bisibelebath bath powder receipe is learnt from my grandma by my mom and i learnt from my mom...its very special receipe and my relatives and friends always ask for the recipe
