Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup arhar/ tuvar dal


  • 2 cups water


  • 2 teaspoon Salt


  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder


  • 1 Cup curd


  • 1 Cup milk


  • 1/2 cup malai (milk cream)


  • 10 cloves


  • 1 black cardamom


  • 1 Coal piece


  • 1 tablespoon ghee


  • For tadka:


  • 1 tablespoon ghee


  • 3-4 cloves garlic (chopped)


  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder


  • For garnishing:


  • 1 green chilli (chopped)

Directions

  • Wash the dal and add it in pressure cooker with water, salt and red chilli powder. Cook for around 3-4 whistles.
  • Take a bowl. Add milk, curd and cream. Whisk well.
  • Dry roast cloves and cardamom. Grind it to fine powder after roasting them.
  • When the dal gets cooked, mash it with the back of the ladle. Add to it, curd cream mix and roasted powder. Cook open for 7-8 minutes
  • Heat a coal piece. Put it in a bowl. Add one tablespoon ghee over it and put that bowl in dal and cook covered on sim for 10 minutes.
  • For tadka, heat a pan. Add ghee. Add jeera, garlic and red chilli powder.
  • Pour the tadka over dal. Garnish with Green chilli
