Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup semolina (rava/suji)


  • 1 1/4 cups water or as needed


  • 2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)


  • 1 onion (finely chopped)


  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)


  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)


  • 1/2 tsp salt or as needed


  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder


  • 1/4 tsp garam masala


  • 3-4 curry leaves

Directions

  • Heat pan or kadai on medium flame and dry roast semolina for 5 minutes or until aroma comes. keep it aside.
  • To the same pan heat ghee. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter. Add asafoetida onion, green chilli and saute them for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and saute for 2 more minutes.
  • Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala. Mix it.
  • Add roasted semolina fry for 1 minute. Add water and stir well.
  • cover it and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with some coconut chutney, chai, papad, sambhar or pickle. Enjoy 😊
