Ingredients

Serves 1

  • 1/2 cup semolina (rava/suji)

  • 1 1/4 cups water or as needed

  • 2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)

  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)

  • 1/2 tsp salt or as needed

  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder

  • 1/4 tsp garam masala

  • 3-4 curry leaves

Directions

    Heat pan or kadai on medium flame and dry roast semolina for 5 minutes or until aroma comes. keep it aside.

    To the same pan heat ghee. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter. Add asafoetida onion, green chilli and saute them for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and saute for 2 more minutes.

    Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala. Mix it.

    Add roasted semolina fry for 1 minute. Add water and stir well.

    cover it and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

    Serve immediately with some coconut chutney, chai, papad, sambhar or pickle. Enjoy 😊
