Serves 4

  • 2 cups besan,

  • 4 -cups water,

  • 1/2tsp salt or to taste

  • 1/2tsp red chilli powder

  • 2red chillies, finely slited

  • 1/4tsp of asafetida

  • 1/2 tsp ajwain (carom seeds

  • 4 tsp oil,

  • 2tsp ghee

  • For garnish

  • 2spoons chopped coriander leaves,

  • 2tsp red chilli oil for tarka


  • 01

    Dissolve or mix besan with water. In pan heat ghee, add, asafoetida, ajwain,curry leaves and 2red chillies,( finely slited) .

    Reserve half of this for garnish.then add water-besan mixture, stirring constantly to avoid the lumps.

    Add salt and chilli powder and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes or until besan is cooked and thick enough to set.
