Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • Coconut bits - 1 cup


  • Roasted gram dal - 1/2 cup


  • Garlic - 3 pods


  • Tamarind - 1 gooseberry size


  • Salt - 2 tsp


  • Water - 2 tbsp (as required)


  • Oil - 2 tsp


  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp


  • Urad dal - 1 tsp


  • Curry leaves - 1 string

Directions

  • In a mixer jar put the fresh coconut bits, roasted gram dal, garlic, tamarind salt and water. Grind them well.
  • In a tempering pan add oil, when hot add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and when it splutters add it the grinded coconut mixture.
  • Mix well and serve with idly, dosa, pongal, vada etc...
