Nendran Pazham Nerruku/Yellow Banana Sweet Ghee Fritters

Nendran Pazham or yellow banana is a particular type or variety of banana that is available in the Malabar coast or in Kerala. This is a very quick and easy sweet recipe. First the nendran Pazham has to be very ripe where the banana peel turns almost black in color.

Ingredients

  • Nendran Pazham 2 nos over ripened


  • Ghee 4 tablespoons


  • Jaggery powder or sugar 4 tablespoons

Directions

  • Now peel the bananas or the nendran Pazham and cut them in small circles or long slices or sauy pieces.
  • Now heat ghee in a tava or wok and reduce the flame. Now add the cut pieces of the nendran Pazham. Saute it for a few minutes say 5 to 8 minutes.
  • When the banana pieces turn golden brown add the powdered sugar
  • Switch off the flame. Nendran Pazham Nerruku is now ready to be tasted. Take it with a cup of chai or tea.
