Marinara Sauce


Marinara sauce is an Italian sauce made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, oil. It is used in making pastas, lasagnas, Pizzas. It is flavorful, tasty and has unique taste and aroma. Easy to make and requires few ingredients.

Serves : 4
  • Tomatoes – 4 (red and ripe)

  • Garlic cloves – 10-12 (medium sized)

  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon or to taste

  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoon

  • Seasoning – Red chili flakes – 1tsp

  • Oregano – 1 teaspoon

  • Dried Basil leaves – 1tsp

  • Black pepper freshly ground – 1 teaspoon


  • Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add peeled garlic cloves. Saute for a minute.
  • Add roughly chopped tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomato becomes soft and mushy. Let it cool.
  • Once cooled, blend mixture into a fine and thin puree. Pass this puree through soup sieve.
  • Pour in a pan again and add seasoning. Stir it and cook for 1-2 minutes or mixture forms a sauce-like consistency.
  • Marinara sauce is ready. use it for making pasta or lasagna, pizzas.
