Ingredients

  • 1 bowl leftover khichadi


  • 2 bowl leftover dal


  • 1 onion chopped


  • 1 tomato chopped


  • 2 cup palak/ spinach chopped


  • 2 garlic chopped


  • 1 pinch hing


  • 1 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 tsp salt to taste


  • 4 curry leaves


  • 1 tsp cumin powder

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. let it crackle.
  • Add garlic, curry leaves, hing and saute for a minute.
  • Add onion and salt. mix it well and wait till onion turns translucent.
  • add tomato and red chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and mix well.
  • Add dal and bring it to a boil. Transfer chgopped palak and cook for a minute.
  • Roughly mash the khichadi and transfer into the dal. cook for 5 minutes and serve hot.
  • you can do the tempering with dries red chilly.
