Buttermilk is a dairy drink prepared from curd. Traditionally the buttermilk referred as the liquid left behind after churning butter (Loni or unsalted butter) out of cream or curd. This method is still popular in Indian, Nepalese, Pakistani household. At some places, buttermilk is spiced and served and recipes vary by region.
