  • Papad- 8-10

  • Curd/yogurt- 4 tablespoon

  • Gram flour/besan- 1 and 1/2 tablespoon

  • Oil/ghee- 2 tablespoon

  • Garlic, chopped or crushed- 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chili powder- 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon

  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon or as required

  • Asafetida- 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander leaves 1 tablespoon for garnish

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Water 2 tablespoon or as required


  • Roast or microwave the papads. I cook on tawa and apply some oil on it.
  • In a bowl, add yogurt and water and whisk it nicely. Now, add gram flour, some salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder.
  • Mix all the ingredients nicely, and keep aside.
  • Now, take a pan and add ghee or oil, and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafetida. Sauté it for a second and add garlic and sauté for another second.
  • On the low flame, add the yogurt mixture in a pan and stir it constantly.
  • Now, add some water and cook till the oil separates.
  • Then, add papad pieces and mix well.
  • Allow this to cook for 6 to 10 minutes, and add lemon juice.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
