Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • Poha (beaten rice flakes) - 1 cup


  • Onion - 2 medium (finely chopped)


  • Boiled potato- 1 medium (chopped) or you can use normal potato


  • Green chili- 2-3 (finely chopped)


  • Curry leaves- 8-10


  • Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon


  • Fennel seeds- 1 teaspoon


  • Peanuts - 1 tablespoon


  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon


  • Salt 1 teaspoon or as taste


  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon


  • Asafetida- 1/4 teaspoon


  • Oil - 1 tablespoon


  • Coriander 2 tablespoon

Directions

  • Wash the poha for 2-3 times and drain the water and keep aside for 10 minutes. Add some sugar to add a little sweetness in poha.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when the mustard seeds crackle add curry leaves and asafetida, and add peanuts.
  • When peanuts roast, and then add chopped onion and green chilli.
  • When onion is cooked, add the chopped boil potatoes (if you use raw potatoes, then add potatoes with onion).
  • Now add poha,salt and turmeric powder.
  • Saute nicely.
  • Mix it well and add fennel seeds.
  • Remove from the heat and garnish with coriander.
  • Sprinkle sev mixture and lemon juice on top.
  • Serve hot with tea/ jalebi/ papad
  • You can add veggies like boiled peas, chopped tomatoes, and chopped carrots.
  • Also garnish with grated coconut as it enhances flavour.
